As you can imagine, it takes several thousand dollars and a lot of hard work to conduct this event. Thanks to individuals, organizations, businesses, etc., this event continues to be one of the best in the country and everything is FREE to the participants.
The primary mission of the derby is to get families to spend time together and introduce kids to fishing and other outdoor activities.

In years past, we have personally gone from door to door asking for donations. By doing this, we have unintentionally missed some who would like to donate and have probably aggravated some who don’t wish to donate.
For this reason and the fact that we have a very small number of volunteers, we have hope that through this website and mailings, we will continue to be able to collect the funds needed in order to continue the fishing derby.
